I just loved yesterday. I absolutely adore change and yesterday I was able to witness a transformation. First of all mum arrived with another table to add to the collection of table and chairs, dad had kindly moved into the marquee. Next it was Kate followed closely by Lorna with a much appreciated lemon cake that made the cleaning that much more enjoyable. And not much further behind them Andy and Rich arrived from Production Plus, an events design company. Now if you are ever thinking of putting together any kind of an event then these are your guys. Rich worked diligently in yesterday’s heat to transform an old corrugated iron barn into an amazing party venue. Lights and staging transformed the place. Then the best bit of all, was us rolling up our sleeves and arranging tables, chairs and bales of straw, cutting fabric into table cloths and stringing up bunting. Just when you thought the place couldn’t look any better, friends Ann and Patrick arrived and put up the finishing touches. We all agreed as darkness fell, gin and tonic in our hands, as we sat by the fire in a box that it really couldn’t look any better. All will be revealed in tomorrow’s blog if I am in a fit state to write it!
So we are pretty sorted out now. To top it all in the midst of all the excitement the postman arrived with a parcel addressed to moi. Inside was a lovely teapot and a variety of teas all beautifully presented with a little note from Wendy and Sharon. Thank you so much girls this was so unexpected but much appreciated. You must come and join me in a cup of afternoon tea and cakes.
Hopefully I will manage to slip in an afternoon nap today before the fun starts. It won’t be without others pushing me to stop and lie down for an hour or two but it won’t be easy with such an exciting evening ahead of us.
Looking forward to meeting new friends and catching up with old family and friends who have made the time and effort to travel some distance to join in with the celebrations.
Such fun yet again
